T-Systems division Auto & MI achieves CMMI Maturity Level 3
The automobile division of T-Systems has done it: After three years of intensive work CMMI Maturity Level 3 was achieved. In a formal reception, the official affirmation was passed on to the managers Dr. Frank Kurth and Dr. Richard Neurath as representatives of the entire organization.
Professionalization and Simplification
With the help of CMMI the organization has systematically implemented improvements and simplifications, so that T-Systems will meet the increasing demands of customers with a professional approach to projects and processes. Many of the employees developed and implemented improvements which simplify project steps, create more transparency, and save time and money. In addition, the CMMI Maturity Level 3 is a clear differentiation from competitors and improves the market position of T-Systems substantially.
Focusing on Deployment and Implementation
"The key to success," says Volker Ludwig, Project Manager of the initiative, "was the focus on the deployment and an unbroken and good team spirit from the first until the last day." The implementation of the requirements with cyclical phases, known as sprints, the workshops with opinion leaders and managers, and the active change in the projects were the key of the deployment strategy. This type of implementation by the organization has not only led to simplifications and practical improvements, but to a broad support in the organization. The unanimous opinion in the projects and the management: "Even though we now have CMMI Maturity Level 3, the improvement cycles must continue." wibas contributed significant input, and the "support of wibas was a crucial factor for success," says Volker Ludwig.
Praise for the implementation
"I'm proud of the results achieved over the past 24 months by all parties and confirmed by the good appraisal results," said Dr. Frank Kurth, head of car & MI. "Everybody pulled together and contributed a great job on this success." At the end of the presentation of the official results Claudia Raak, CEO of wibas, says: "We have supported such improvements in many organizations, but we rarely see this consistency and teamwork over such a long time. You can be proud of this. "
The next steps
After the successful Class A appraisal the CMMI Maturity Level 3 project is completed, but the improvement cycles will continue. "Next Level" is the magic word. The goal is to optimize the processes and methods in terms of efficiency, quality and measurability of processes and projects even further.
