With Planning Poker you can estimate realistic and reliable efforts. This workshop teaches the method, the cards, the roles and the moderation techniques.
This workshop is aimed at managers, project managers and employees who need to estimate required effort - be it in a change initiative or in a software development project.
After the workshop you are able to conduct joint Planning Poker estimation sessions and thus to efficiently generate reliable estimates.

The individual topics covered:
This workshop presents and discusses the key success factors for planning poker estimating sessions - irrespective of project type or size.
- The importance of realistic, reliable estimates for the successful projects and for business excellence
- An overview of estimating techniques (e.g. Function Point, Use Case Point, Delphi)
- The Planning Poker method, the card deck, and the roles
- The basic conditions which need to be considered in Planning Poker sessions
- Moderator techniques which are used Planning Poker sessions
- Various estimation approaches – relative estimations, Story Points
- Planning Poker and Agile project management
- Exercise to firmly instill the key factors of the general approach and the techniques
40% theory and 60% practice. The training is designed for practical use and exercises are based on day-to-day situations.

- Have experienced the siginficance of consensus based estimating by means of concrete examples
- Have successfully conducted Planning Poker sessions under various environmental conditions
