This workshop presents and discusses the key success factors for planning poker estimating sessions - irrespective of project type or size.

  • The importance of realistic, reliable estimates for the successful projects and for business excellence
  • An overview of estimating techniques (e.g. Function Point, Use Case Point, Delphi)
  • The Planning Poker method, the card deck, and the roles
  • The basic conditions which need to be considered in Planning Poker sessions
  • Moderator techniques which are used Planning Poker sessions
  • Various estimation approaches – relative estimations, Story Points
  • Planning Poker and Agile project management
  • Exercise to firmly instill the key factors of the general approach and the techniques

40% theory and 60% practice. The training is designed for practical use and exercises are based on day-to-day situations.
