  • Agile Estimation in SAFe: Debunking Myths and Clarifying Practices

If we estimate that an item has a size of 2, the actual value (once we implement it and know the actual size) could be anything, but a 2 is more likely than a 13. The uncertainty and spread of the distribution increases with larger estimates. This is why the range of Story Points spreads out as it gets larger (3, 5, 8, 13 …).

  • wibas Puzzle for SAFe Events

SAFe® implements this through the cadences "Program Increment" (8-12 weeks; default: 10 weeks) and "Iteration" (default: 2 weeks) and their associated events. Knowing and understanding these cadences and events is fundamental to any SAFe® implementation. The wibas Puzzle for SAFe® Events offers a playful approach to learn and understand this knowledge.

  • A tricky slide about Story Points and Capacity in SAFe® – and how to get it right.

This leads to two big mistakes. (1) The Capacity calculation formula “8 points for every full-time developer” is used every Iteration/Sprint. (2) The relationship “assign one point to a Story that would take about a half day to develop and a half day to test and validate” is used repeatedly and not to find the reference Story for size “1”.

  • Maltes talk on Scrum or Kanban – which is better?

It starts at 7 pm and ends at 8:30 pm. Scrum vs. Kanban - which framework will win? Julia says Kanban is better than Scrum. Kanban starts with what teams are doing now and becomes better with incremental changes. Meetings can have different cadences. Work can be pulled item by item. Increments are independent of a cadence and can be delivered when they are done.

  • Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe): Framework for agile scaling

If the team iterations are e.g. 2 weeks long, the planning interval could be e.g. 10 weeks. This means that 5 iterations run in one PI at team level.
