Scaling Agile - Leading SAFe® and LeSS

The three-day-training provides guidance through methods and best practices coming from the Large Scale Scrum (LeSS) and Scaled Agile Framework® (v.4.0). The goal after the three day is not only to know both Frameworks - LeSS and SAFe®(v.4.0), but furthermore it empowers our attendees to create first  approaches on how to implement a customized  solution for their own bussines situation.

During the first two days, training practitioner lern how the Scaled Agile Framework® is structured to scale agile working teams (no matter if they working with Scrum or Kanban) in huge organizational environment. The training content is equivalent to the standard 2-days Leading SAFe® Training and focuses on the knowledge necessary to lead an enterprise agile transformation by leveraging the Scaled Agile Framework.

The main topics of the Leading SAFe® Training are : 

  • SAFe Principles, -Core Values and -Agile Mindeset
  • Portfolio-,  Value Stream-, Program-, and Team Level
  • Agile Budgeting and Prioritization
  • SAFe Roles, Artefacts and Meetings
  • Agile Requirement Management (Epic, Enabler, Capabilites, Features, and Stories)
  • Agile Architecture
  • The Agile Release Train (ART)
  • Release Planning Meeting
  • Scrum and Kanban
  • Agile Leadership
  • Centralized and decentralized decision-making.

After the first two days of Leading SAFe® training, attendees have the possibility to become registered for the online open book test by the SAFe Program Consultant (Trainer). The successful passing of the online test entitles the students as certified SAFe® Agilist (SA).

The third day is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part is dedicated to introduce LeSS as a further proven framework for scaling agile teams within organizations. Attendees are going to learn what needs to be considered in order to scale their agile teams by starting with the lowest effort. Finally the attendees have the chance to transfer their aquired knowledge and apply the frameworks tools and methods combined with the trainers' experiences for their individual business environment.

LeSS Framework

Certification

After completing this course and passing the test, you become a Certified SAFe® Agilist (SA).

Audience

Executives, managers and Agile change agents responsible for leading a Lean|Agile change initiative in the larger software enterprise.

Pre-requisites

The Team Level of SAFe is based on Scrum. The pace of the course is high, so familiarity with Scrum principles, roles and techniques is highly recommended.

Good entry courses include:

Certified Scrum Master
Certified Scrum Product Owner
or other equivalent knowledge regarding Scrum.
