Current innovations in the most frequently used AI tools

Here is an overview of the most important new functions and features that have been released in the last four weeks (October 2025) for the AI tools mentioned. The corresponding sources are linked below:

ChatGPT (OpenAI)

• Automatic memory management: ChatGPT now manages memories independently, prioritizes important details and ensures a smooth user experience. Users can search, sort and prioritize individually [1].
• Pulse (Pro Preview): ChatGPT provides daily, personalized summaries on iOS and Android as visual updates based on user history and feedback [1].
• New browser "ChatGPT Atlas": A web browser with integrated ChatGPT control and functions such as tab groups and user profiles [2][3].

What do we use ChatGPT for? All-rounder AI assistant for text, code, research and content creation, offering multimodality (text, image, audio, video) and advanced personalization. Our daily sparring partner.

Claude (Anthropic)

• Desktop app with file creation/editing: Direct editing and creation of documents, spreadsheets and presentations using a sandbox mode in the desktop client [4].
• Skills: Introduction of reusable "skills" for Claude - templates for consistent AI actions, usable in all Claude apps and the API [4].
• New models: "Haiku 4.5" (extra-high-speed, near-frontier performance) for real-time and mass applications. "Sonnet 4.5" with improved capabilities for complex tasks and agents [5][6].

What do we use Claude for? Solves complex tasks particularly reliably, can process long documents and values security, transparency and ethical responses.

Gemini (Google)

• Veo 3.1: Improved video generation with more realistic textures, dynamic dialog options and immersive sound effects [7][8].
• Gemini 2.5 Flash: Step-by-step guides, advanced image analysis and more organized notes for better learning and project support [7].
• Canvas Update: Quick topic presentations with automatic export option to Google Slides [7].
• LaTeX rendering: Better copying, editing and exporting of formulas [7].
• Voice Assistant for TV: Conversational assistant for TV recommendations (e.g. on Google TV)[7].
• Gemini replaces Google Assistant in Smart Speakers & Home: AI upgrade for smart devices, new natural language control and AI-based video summaries in Google Home app relaunch [9].

What do we use Gemini for? Google's AI is specially optimized for a seamless combination of image and text processing, research and direct integration into Google products.

Perplexity AI

• Samsung TV app: First-time integration of a Perplexity app for Samsung TVs for AI-supported content discovery on the TV [10].
• Multimodal search and live web: Improved real-time queries, "deep research" mode and use of different AI models for individual tasks [11].
• New mobile app version and Comet study mode for learners (Early Access): Improvements for mobile users and special features for education [12].

What do we use Perplexity for? AI search engine that provides structured, reliable web-based answers and is particularly useful for quick research with fact checks. Often replaces Google, Qwant and other search engines.

Co-Pilot (Microsoft Copilot)

• Group mode: Shared AI workspaces with up to 32 users for brainstorming, planning and co-authoring, including context and decision tracking [13].
• New characters ("Mico") and Real Talk: New, customizable dialogue modes with animated feedback avatars [13].
• Long-term memory & personalization: Copilot remembers important information and user priorities for the long term if desired [13].
• Copilot Mode in Edge & Windows: AI-supported browser and system integration incl. "Hey Copilot" voice control, Copilot Vision Guidance [13][14].

What do we use Microsoft's Copilot for? It is integrated into many business applications and supports with the applications, code, text, organization and other busywork.

Midjourney

• Standalone image editor (coming soon): Own images can be edited with midjourney tools, including "Depth Reference" for new textures [15].
• Personalization Profiles: Multiple personal profiles can be created for style or demographics; real-time training for individual outputs [15].
• Storytelling and video tools: First tools for storytelling and video grids ("Midjourney TV"), extension for community content [15].

What do we use Midjourney for? A text-to-image generator that facilitates the creation of our visualizations and designs with creative, high-quality image styles.

Canva AI features

• Magic Media Style Reference: High-scale style matching for generated images using image references [16].
• Workflow improvements: Audio add, one-click line direction reversal, new chart titles, improved polls/quizzes and LinkedIn Ads integration[16].
• AI Photo Editor (work in progress): AI-driven editing/photo modifications and coded mini-app creation directly from Canva [17].

What do we use Canva AI for? For easy creation and editing of graphics, designs and presentations in Canva. We mainly use it for social media graphics.

DALL-E

• DALL-E 3 (recent): Seamless integration with ChatGPT, optimized text-to-image generation with higher detail and accuracy, opt-in/out for artistic style [18][19].

What do we use DALL-E for? It is integrated in ChatGPT, we use it to generate images from text descriptions.

Jasper AI

• Multi-agent platform: Marketers can integrate AI-driven content directly into campaign workflows; collaboration with Braze [20].
• Brand IQ & Marketing IQ: No-code tooling for brand guidelines, content control; AI support for SEO, brand customization, multi-format content [21][22].

What do we use Jasper for? Creation of marketing texts and copywriting.

Synthesia

• Synthesia 3.0: New avatars with lifelike movements/facial expressions, audio/voice cloning, automatic video dubbing for 30+ languages, interactivity through clickable video elements and video agents for true two-way communication [23][24][25][26].
• Copilot (in planning): Automatic video editing and scripting, knowledge transfer from company databases [24].

What do we use Synthesia for? It allows you to automatically convert text or script templates into professional videos with AI-generated avatars. We don't use it enough yet ;-)

Neuroflash

• BrandHub and ChatFlash integration: Collaborative work on content, direct integration of brand voices and cross-team workflows[27][28].
• AI Avatars & Prompt Optimizer: User-defined avatars and improved prompt function for image and text creation [29].

What do we use Neuroflash for? This AI speaks native German. It is specialized for text generation in German and offers over 100 text types (content types such as blog posts, product descriptions or advertisements).
