Scrum Masters are accountable for results in the implementation of Scrum as defined in the Scrum Guide: they do this by helping to understand Scrum theory and practice, both within Scrum teams and in the organization.
Scrum masters are accountable for the effectiveness of the Scrum Team
Scrum Masters are accountable for the effectiveness of the Scrum Team in terms of results. They do this by enabling Scrum Teams to improve their practices within the Scrum framework. Scrum Masters are true leaders who serve the Scrum Team and the overall organization.
Scrum Master and Kanban
In Kanban there is a comparable role to the Scrum Master: the Flow Manager or the Service Delivery Manager. In Kanban, the Service Delivery Manager is responsible for the downstream part of a work process. To put it casually: the Service Delivery Manager is responsible for getting promised things out the door.
