21. base camp 18.01.: cultureQs - talk straight now

At the first base camp meeting on January 18, we playfully equipped ourselves with "cultureQs" for the upcoming challenges in 2016.

The base camp is our established format for all managers who are interested in discussing current topics with us in a relaxed setting.

We had Eric Lynn - inventor of cultureQs - as our guest. cultureQs can be used to initiate conversations about motivators and beliefs in teams facing change.

The challenge: We are facing major changes in our company. "How can we create the work culture we need for this?"

The idea: to use the "cultureQs" game as a change and integration accelerator.

The procedure: The 25 base camp participants were divided into 5 tables of 5 people each. Each group received its own cultureQs game set - game board, game pieces, dice, cultureQs questions.

Eric gave a brief introduction to the topic of culture and the cornerstones of cultureQs to sensitize the participants to the topic and the task at hand. You can find the introductory slides here: cQs Culture Presentation

And then it all started:

Each team first dealt with the rules of the game. These are simple: the aim is for the team to deal with cultureQs questions from all categories - basic motivation and beliefs (rootsQs), behavior patterns (behaviorQs), traps and pitfalls (trapsQs), personal preferences (myQs) and food for thought from traditional and modern sources (wisdomQs) - and from traditional and modern sources ( wisdomQs ).

Everyone was quickly able to reflect on their personal intrinsic motivators and discuss them in the group. As a result, the participants in the respective groups quickly found each other.

After about 60 minutes, Eric conducted a debriefing. Each group was first asked to reflect on the key findings individually and then together in plenary.

The findings: What did the participants find "unusual"? can be found here: CultureQ's findings

With the knowledge gained from this new experience, we moved on to the cozy part of the base camp meeting.

Gute Zeit!
