Can we make cooperation successful in human AND economic terms or will this remain wishful thinking and lip service?
We can! This is demonstrated by a whole series of German and European organizations that have already found a new way of working together and are thus considered pioneers of New Work. What characterizes this new way of working together is one thing above all: eye level.
But what exactly is eye level and what characterizes it?
We dedicated our 25th base camp on 04.07.2016 to the Documentary film AUGENHÖHEwegewhich portrays these pioneering companies and their way of working together in an exciting and informative way.
Together with Daniel Trebien, initiator and filmmaker of AUGENHÖHEwege, and many clever participants, we watched excerpts from the 90-minute film and thought about it together:
What has contributed to a more level playing field at the companies portrayed?
We would like to share some impressions and observations with you, because what actually constitutes eye level is multi-layered and diverse! It is...
- Being oriented towards people and feelings
- Living and showing trust
- Taking responsibility and sharing
- The willingness to question everything again and again
- Wanting, being able and allowed to change
- Supporting each other instead of insulting each other
- Hide hierarchies
- Thinking leadership differently
- Meeting each other honestly and openly
- Being able to let go
- Showing respect and appreciation
- Enabling spiral developments
- Thinking top-down and bottom-up
- Making decisions as a team
- ... and so much more...
It is encouraging to see that there are companies that live all this and have significantly increased their profitability as a result! It is certainly not an easy path from the working conditions we know to those shown in the film. Nevertheless, it is worth thinking, discussing and taking the steps towards a new world of work together.
