End of the month: we SPIKE!

What is a spike?

Every last Friday of the month, we "wibasians" meet for a team event at the wibas office in Darmstadt.

Why is this a special day for us?

Our consultants are not with the customer on this day. The back office does not prepare any training sessions or answer customer inquiries. This day belongs to us.

What are we doing?

  • We exchange ideas and develop a common understanding of our work at and with the customer.
  • We learn useful tools for our work and develop together as a team.
  • We have fun.

How do we do that?

We have a tried and tested agenda and a rotating team of moderators.

Our day starts with a "stand-up" so that everyone knows what is important to everyone else.
We then look at our "facts, figures and data" so that everyone knows where we currently stand as a team.
This is followed by a "best practice" block. We present new tools and good practices that we can use for our work. From time to time, we have an external expert as a guest.
We spend the lunch break together in the office. This time, David presents what he experienced during his sabbatical in Uganda.
In the afternoon, we work together on our Customer magazine. A "sprint change" takes place every third spike. We look at our results since the last quarter and plan our work for the coming quarter.

At the end, we look back on the day together. For example, we ask ourselves: What did we love today, what did we learn, what did we lack and what did we long for? We use the results of this retrospective to plan the next spike.

Why is this day so important to us?

We want to work together, have fun and grow together. This is typical of our corporate culture.
