Brainstorming
The idea generation phase is about really understanding the problem, defining a target group and really getting to know them through observation or interviews. For our workshop, we had already prepared a problem definition and created a persona that corresponded to our target group. We presented both to the participants.
The participants then used the "qualitative interview" technique to get to know the target group better directly at the solutions.hamburg congress. The participants conducted individual interviews with other congress participants and evaluated their results together.
Prototyping
Based on the findings from the idea generation phase, the participants decided to develop an initial paper prototype in the form of a cover letter text during the prototyping phase. They would then "test" this in the validation phase.
Validation
With their first prototypes under their arms, the participants went out and gave the text to other congress participants, gathering feedback and reactions.
The participants then evaluated their results and summarized patterns. The findings here were, for example, that addressing someone as "Sie" sounds old-fashioned if the letter comes from potential future colleagues, which generates more sympathy.
Conclusion
In general, it can be said that we were able to find the first important insights within 2 hours and that going through the design thinking process in such a short time provided a better understanding.
